Happiest Barefoot
I studied Graphic Communication & Illustration at the University of Wolverhampton and have worked a 9-5 as a graphic designer for well over 20 years. I have an interest in genealogy and local history.

I chose the name ‘Happiest Barefoot’ because I’m forever being told to put something on my feet. My late autistism diagnosis has allowed me to understand why I feel less constricted when I’m barefoot, and with dyspraxia too, it gives me a sense of grounding and proprioception.

Research projects
I can trace my maternal family tree back to the late 1700s in Rookery Street, Wednesfield, and my paternal tree to the early 1800s in Church Road, Wednesfield Heath. While researching the places my ancestors lived, I came across two long-demolished buildings, Gothic Villa in Wednesfield Heath, and a mortuary chapel in Wednesfield Burial Ground. There was very little information available on either building, and this is how I, quite accidentally, became an amateur historian and project manager of The Wednesfield Burial Ground Project.
